Hello All!

With summer vacation season approaching, many people will be heading to Florida (its the No. 1 timeshare destination in the world). I know when I hear the word "Florida" the first thing that comes to mind is Mickey Mouse and theme parks. After all, I believe every child wants to visit Disney World at least once in its life.

So if you're planning on visiting the sunshine state this summer you have to consider many things but make sure you consider the hurricane season as well. Nothing worse than making flight, lodging, rental and other vacation arrangements to find out a hurricane is rolling through during your week. Hurricane season starts in June and runs until November. I have already seen a few predictions online of 9 hurricanes and 4 of them are predicted to be heavy ones (of course these are only predictions). If you are currently planning your vacation I am providing a wonderful link to the National Hurrican Center where you can keep track of Hurricane activity. This website let's you track hurricanes all across the country. Also if you have traveled during a hurricane please post your experience, it would give our readers an idea of what to expect during the unexpected.

Have a happy and safe vacation everyone!

If you're in Florida during Hurricane season, the local TV stations are very good at reporting potential hurricane activity - sometimes showing storms developing a week in advance. Remember to check the TV newscasts for the latest activity. Also, take the warnings seriously. Traffic congestion is a nightmare in Florida, especially in the Orlando area, and if a warning is issued, you'll want to get on the road early to avoid traffic tie-ups. I-95 during an evacuation is not a pretty site. And think about travel insurance to guard against possible cancellations and re-booking airfares.
