Hi,

We have a Carriage Hills Resort vacation timeshare located in Barrie, ON.  We bought in April of 2004 and with a new home coming in 3 months we would like to sell it.  We have been having a hard time selling this timeshare.  We registered with a Century 21 vacation timeshare company in Florida but they haven't done anything for us.  We also registered with Royal LePage here in Toronto and it was listed on MLS.ca but we haven't had much luck with that.  We really want to sell this before we move into our new home.  Does anybody have any advice/suggestions?  Help!

Thank you!

Hi Scottandlinz, and welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear your difficulties in selling this timeshare. I do believe your timeshare is apart of the Shell Vacations Club correct? SellmytimeshareNOW.com can definitely help you sell your timeshare; there are a few things you need to understand to get a successful sale.

  • Your sale price needs to be accurate and competitive.

Remember, timeshares don't increase in value they actually decrease. So if you over price the timeshare then you will have difficulties selling (feel free to contact us and we will provide you with a fair market value)

  • Where you sell your timeshare increases your chances dramatically!

SellmytimeshareNOW.com is the most visited & offered company on the resale market today! Our company attracts over 50,000 people per day to the site and we currently average over $5,000,000 a week in offers. The other companies you mentioned are difficult to find through search engines and draw far less visitors and offers (main reason why your property hasn't sold).

  • Keep in constant contact with the organization that is assisting you.

Once you put the property on the market it is key to keep in touch with the organization that is helping you. Most people make the common mistake of waiting for the company to contact them. The resale market is really what the buyer is willing to pay; there are no "set" prices out there. So if your property is not receiving offers it is most likely that you’re over priced for the current market and it is recommended to lower your asking price periodically (every 4 to 8 weeks).
