I originally posted this under the Fairshare/Wyndham catagory. Thought I'd post it here also in hopes of getting some response!

Just started looking for "used" Wyndham points. I am an existing owner who is looking to buy more points and travel more. FIRST QUESTION: Why the large discrepancy in prices? I understand that some sellers may be more "motivated" than others, for whatever reason. But some of the spreads I see for the same points amounts seems unrealistic, which leads me to my SECOND QUESTION: Are all of the listed offers for real; some are several years old? I made a request for additional info for three different listings; it's only been 2 days, but no reply yet. Honestly, I don't expect any.

To answer your questions, in March of this year, Wyndham stopped allowing straight point transfers which means that an owner cannot transfer their points to another user. To utilize these points they'd need to "rent" them by booking the actual dates and then selling the week to the perspective buyers/renters. I'd inquire with a Vacation Specialist, contact request form, and have them streamline the process for you. They'll be able to get everything booked for you and all your questions answered.

Regarding the price differences you've noticed, do remember that each owner is different and in a different financial situation so they are allowed to price at what they desire. It also may have something to do with how much is still owed on the timeshare, which sometimes can be wrapped into the selling price.

Additionally, owners can't always get right back to every offer, especially if the offer is extremely low. I've been told that some owners just automatically delete the very low offers. I do not agree with this method and would always advise the owners to follow up on each opportunity.

Do let us know how it all works out!!

Best,
