One major issue with C21 is finding them! They are a real estate company and you will not find any properties for sale online (where the majority of sales happen). They also charge an upfront fee on top of a commission. That company is never recommended here.

Advice: Timeshares are not investments and you should not expect to make money on them... They are for our enjoyment to use as vacation spots. Don't buy if you have no plans on using them or expect to make money on them. They are valuable as far as personal enjoyment comfort during your vacation stays and they are better than staying in motels and hotels... of course like anything else. There are better timeshares than others. so be carefull in choosing your vacation spots.. Enjoy your timeshare and don't worry if your making money on them...because your not... If you feel that your maintenance fees are getting to high to be worth while. Sell low and get out. Don't look at it as a lose but look at it as getting free from a debt.

when my aunt asked me to purchase in a florida timeshare resort with her, my understanding is that it is an investment that'll make my money grow better than putting it in a time deposit. that was two years ago. for six months now, we've been trying to find someone to sell our timeshare with but with no luck.

i guess i should've research more before putting in some of my savings in an investment that i don't really understand. well, that's too late now.

Hello Again,
I saw your comment and wanted to point out that there are a lot of people that make the same mistake when purchasing a timeshare, I understand your frustration. The value in buying timeshare is not that you'll MAKE money but that you'll SAVE money by locking in today's rates. As the economy gets tougher lodging and hospitality rates are on the steady rise, but not for timeshare owners who will be able to enjoy their already paid for vacations every year.

If you feel that your maintenance fees are too high or that you're not utilizing the vacations then Resale is your best bet.
Renting is another way to manage costs because you are getting something back to help you pay for it in the meantime.

A bit of advice regarding the Resale company you work with, be wary of any Company that "Guarantees a sale" but there are places that have refund deals on ad fees and such.

Best,
Timeshare 411

thank you for responding, timeshare 411. i'm having second thoughts now about giving up my share specifically because the offers are too low. i don't know if people are just trying to con me into selling but i'm a bit wary now specially after having a bad experience.

i'll probably just use the "points" this winter and travel with my aunt. i'm a travel agent but haven't had a holiday outside of canada in years. i think i need a different destination anyway.

who knows? maybe i'd enjoy this timesharing experience.
